Requirements:
  • Experienced NNPs and New Grads welcome
  • Open on Education
  • Open on NCC
Job description:

Welcome to a role of endless options in the city that equals it…

Wonderful opportunity for the newer graduate or the practitioner seeking a big time role in a small town atmosphere.
A top rated children's hospital seeks additional NNPs for expanding medical center. Join an established team of practitioners working (optional 24s) 10 hr days, rotating coverage at Level III (that does it all- ECMO, NI, HFV, surgeries) and affiliate Level II and III nurseries with large obstetrical services. Main campus NICU broken down into module-to-patient approach complete with teams comprising of NNP, resident, intern & medical student. Constant learning environment within this efficiently supportive teaching hospital where the practitioner is looked upon respectfully (NNP solid 20+ years!) for support, guidance and knowledge.

Hired under Department of Pediatrics and reporting to the NNP Coordinator the staff practitioners also gain the advantage of being a university employee so one can enjoy all the benefits- such as discounted tuition for all dependents. Job role, though mainly clinical, could consist of dedicated time for ancillary activities such as research, publishing, etc if one desires. The newer graduate's orientation is never rushed as one staff member preaches "individuals are different thus go at their own pace." The future is bright with local university School of Nursing NNP program- so if 'adjunct faculty' has a nice ring to it…

The staff promotes 'learning made fun' while considering the passion of saving lives not just a job but an honor and privilege. NICU concept is geared towards serving the needs of the families while providing outstanding patient care. Per another staff member - "the opportunities here are endless" - enjoy big city life with a small town feel. Where else could you take a stroll down the city's canal walk/river promenade, visit a most impressive children's museum, take in 'high-octane excitement' and a monorail ride …just to name a few!

Title:
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (1236)
Requirements:
  • MSN Required (unless grandfather-able)
  • New Grads Welcome to apply
Job description:

We are working to fill three positions for our client in the eastern Virginia area.  This is a facility that is an academic teaching center, and also features a developmental care environment.  This level III unit is expanding to 40 beds by year’s end, and provides a great opportunity for new grads and experienced NNP’s alike.

The NNP role is not 100% clinical, which will allow you to have dedicated, non-clinical time to participate in activities such as committees, consulting, research, bereavement, transport, and education, if you so choose.  The team is very open to new ideas, and is always looking to enhance their best practices.  NNP’s are also allowed to develop and manage their own care plans for their assigned patients.

The NNP’s at this facility are well respected, and enjoy excellent relationships between themselves and the Doctor’s, RN’s and staff.  The program and staff support flexibility between work and personal lives.  Our client provides competitive compensation, as well as excellent benefits, including free tuition for the NNP, their spouse, and dependent children.

Work shifts have historically been mostly days, M-F, with shared night and weekend coverage on a rotating basis.  However, due to the unit expansion, the client is also extending the night and weekend coverage.  The unit has multiple NNP’s on duty.  The NNP’s are self-scheduling in a 1 month block, typically 2-3 months in advance.
